Åpen forelesning: Cubansk fotografi og Havana-biennalen med Nelson Ramírez de Arellano Conde

Oslo Fotokunstskole har gleden av å invitere til en åpen forelesning med en av Cubas ledende kuratorer og kulturaktører.

Ramírez de Arellano Conde er direktør ved Wifredo Lam Contemporary Art Center og Havana Art Biennial. Han er for tiden i Europa i forbindelse med arbeid knyttet til Venezia-biennalen. I denne forelesningen vil han ta oss med på en kronologisk reise gjennom fotografiet, med utgangspunkt i oppfinnelsen av fotografiet og daguerreotypiet, før han går videre til:

– historien om cubansk fotografi
– sentrale cubanske fotografer
– utviklingen og betydningen av Havana-biennalen
– de nyeste utgavene han selv har ledet
– og, hvis tiden tillater det, sin egen kunstneriske praksis

Dette er en sjelden mulighet til å få innsikt i både fotografiets opprinnelse og samtidige kunstneriske praksiser fra et internasjonalt ståsted.

Open Lecture: Cuban Photography and the Havana Biennial with Nelson Ramírez de Arellano Conde.

Oslo Fotokunstskole is pleased to invite you to an open lecture with one of Cuba’s leading curators and cultural figures.

Ramírez de Arellano Conde is Director of the Wifredo Lam Contemporary Art Center and the Havana Art Biennial. He is currently in Europe in connection with work related to the Venice Biennale. In this lecture, he will take us on a chronological journey through photography, starting with its invention and the daguerreotype, before moving into:

– the history of Cuban photography
– key Cuban photographers
– the development and significance of the Havana Biennial
– recent editions he has directed– and, if time allows, his own artistic work

This is a rare opportunity to gain insight into both the origins of photography and contemporary artistic practices from a leading international perspective.
