You are currently showing the exhibition Dream a dream of me at Galleri Resistance in Gothenburg. Could you elaborate on the work you are showing?
The show consist of three mediums, photography, installation and sculptures. The show is also accompanied by a text by Nkule Mabaso (curator and former artistic director of Fotogalleriet). Dream a dream of me is a show trying to make sense of a literal dream. The dream was passed down by a family member to me. The works in the show is me, trying to work out the meaning of the dream through a production of about 12 works. The works in this exhibition are an attempt to interpret and engage that dream.

This is your first solo show outside of Norway. How does it feel to reach a new audience and to exhibit in Gothenburg?
To have my first solo show outside of Norway feels very strange, but I think it is a natural path to take as a developing artist. New location and demographic is something I am really grateful for.

When you were studying at Oslo Fotokunstskole, photography was your primary medium of expression. In the exhibition, there are also works in sculpture and installation. Do you still view photography as your main medium? How did this opening up into other artistic expressions happen for you?
Photography has always been the foundation or base I work from. Personally I think it has its limitations. Sometimes one wants to introduce texture, materials and sound that would relate better to the subject matter. For the current exhibition I wanted to showcase a lot of senses that would elevate exhibition experience. Photography for me is still a very integral medium in my artistic practice.

You started your MA studies at the Academy of Fine Art (Kunstakademiet) at KHiO this autumn. How are you finding the study programme so far?
It is a privilege to be accepted into the masters program at KHiO. As I am studying Fine Arts, the program is based on studio practice, which offers us a lot of freedom. Allowing us to concentrate on research, this in turn adds depth to what we are working on. The program itself allows one to explore different forms of expression.
